Farmers Market News:

At their regular meeting on June 21st Council approved a motion that transfers the operation of the farmers market from the Bellefonte Farmers Market Association to the Borough.  Citing a number of legal issues associated with having the Association in charge of the market, Council felt this action was the best course of action at this time.

The market will still take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in front of the Courthouse and will be open to both producers and non-producers.

Council Vacancies in the North Ward:

Bellefonte Borough is soliciting interested individuals to fill two North Ward vacancies on its Borough Council due to the recent resignations of Councilman Bill Hay and Councilman Alex Novak.  The North Ward is anyone residing between Ridge Street East to the Borough boundary and High Street North to the Borough boundary.  If you are interested in either position, please contact Councilman Joe Beigle at 355-5264 or Mayor Stanley Goldman at 355-1501.   If you are interested but unsure which Ward you reside, please contact the Borough Office at 355-1501 and we will help in determining your Ward.
