HARB Awards09.24.2008 | |
Each year, Bellefonte Borough, in conjunction with the Bellefonte Historical and Architectural Review Board, recognizes property owners who have successfully completed rehabilitation projects that contribute to the community and its architectural and historical significance. Award categories vary but usually include recognition for commercial, residential, and signage projects.
In 2007, the William Rumberger Memorial Award was established in recognition of Bellefonte’s long-standing HARB member and chairman. This award is to be given to a project that exemplifies historic preservation (rather than rehabilitation) practices. The first recipient of this award was The Centre County Library and Historical Museum for their continued maintenance and preservation of the Miles-Potter-Humes House, located on the northwest corner of North Allegheny and West Howard Streets.
A list of past award recipients will be provided here in the near future.
