The Borough Council has decided to change the date of Trick or Treat to Thursday October 29th, 2020 from 6pm-8pm. There has been an approved Rain Date for Trick or Treat, Sunday November 1st, 2020 from 6pm-8pm to align with other area Municipalities. As a reminder Trick or Treat is an optional event for the community where participation is not required. If you wish to not participate in Trick or Treat please have all exterior lights turned off between 6pm and 8pm. If participating in Trick or Treat please maintain proper Social Distancing from others and follow safety protocols in compliance with the CDC Guidelines.
Borough customers are permitted to place bulk waste at the CURB only for pickup by Borough staff. There will be no charge for this extra pickup service. The bulk waste pickup will follow the same routes and schedules as the regular refuse collection service, with one pickup truck-size load limit per customer. The refuse crew will not make extra trips to an address.
Tires, batteries, items too heavy for two people to handle, construction material, paint cans, ammunition and hazardous waste cannot be picked up during bulk waste collection. Residents are not to use cardboard boxes for items if it is raining or it is calling for rain as it makes it difficult for the refuse crew to pick up the boxes without them falling apart. The Borough reserves the right to not collect if there is too much or it is too heavy.
Please separate all Electronics when placing items at the curb. Most electronics need to be recycled and will not be accepted as bulk waste. Electronics that need to be recycled are:
- Desktop, Laptop & Server Computers
- Cell Phones/PDAs
- TVs & Monitors (CRT/LCD/LED/Plasma/Flat Screen)
- Desktop Printers
- Desktop Copiers
- UPS Systems/Battery Backups
- Computer Peripherals (Keyboards, Mice, Speakers, etc.)
- PC Peripherals & Components (External/Internal Drivers/PC Cards/Hubs)
If your electronic item is not on the list above, it cannot be accepted for recycling and should be placed with bulk waste.
