Bellefonte Borough is seeking a transcriptionist to record minutes of the Borough’s various meetings, including but not limited to: Borough Council meetings, Bellefonte Water Authority meetings, Planning Commission meetings, etc. Interested individuals or contractors wishing to submit an RFP should contact the Borough at 814-355-1501 or click here to download the proposal form. The Borough of Bellefonte is interested in hiring a Mechanic for the Public Works Department. The fundamental reason this job exists is to perform highly skilled work in the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of trucks, heavy equipment, automobiles, and motorcycles to ensure Borough vehicles are well maintained and serviced. The essential functions are: service in the diagnosis, maintenance, repair of large trucks, off-road heavy equipment, automobiles, light trucks, motorcycles, small engines; performs equipment repair work on light, medium and heavy duty trucks, and off-road equipment; communicates with other department Public Works personnel and the Administrative Office. Performs miscellaneous functions; troubleshoots and performs repairs on electrical systems on various makes and models of vehicles; performs repairs on hydraulic system on various makes and models of heavy equipment; and troubleshoots and repairs brake systems. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent required; Class B Commercial Drivers License (required within six-months of employment; must have achieved and maintain the State mandated Department of Environmental Protection – Water Certification E with Subclass 8 and 11 as issued by the State Board for Water and Wastewater Systems Operators within two-years of employment. A PA State Inspection License for car and truck (CDL) and PA Emission License for car required.
