Safe Routes to Parks: Pennsylvania Activating Communities
Bellefonte Historic Preservation Foundation (BHPF) is leading a Safe Routes to Parks initiative to improve pedestrian safety and connectivity between downtown, neighborhoods, and key parks, including Talleyrand, Krauss, Masullo, and Governor’s Parks. The project focuses on addressing barriers created by heavily traveled state highways through community engagement and partnerships to identify, fund, and implement safer walking routes. The initiative aims to improve access to parks, support local businesses, and enhance quality of life for residents of all ages.
